Introducing the SustainCERT Platform

High quality carbon standards require third party verification. While this is key to ensuring credits correlate to real impact, most verifiers are still using manual or analogue processes that are inefficient and cumbersome. The paper trail alone is hard to keep track off.

Our work is designed to bring impact verification for carbon markets into the digital age and increase the speed, accuracy and frequency at which carbon credits can be verified and issued.

How to certify a project

The certification process is geared to help design projects for maximum positive impact and to provide the necessary assurance that they achieved what they intended. This includes hiring an approved third-party auditor, called a validation and verification body or VVB, to provide independent verification for project design and performance.

  1. Submit a Project Idea Note and our Business Development Team will follow up with you to discuss your project idea and key questions.
  1. Plan project and hold stakeholder consultation
  2. Prepare a non-technical note of the project summarising
    1. Basic project design
    2. Assessment against Gold Standard Safeguards
    3. Estimation of climate and sustainable development impacts.
  1. Submit a completed Stakeholder Consultation Report
  2. Submit a Draft Project Design Document (PDD) including
    1. Safeguarding Principles Assessment
    2. Assessment against Gold Standard Safeguards
    3. Monitoring plan
  3. Submit a signed GS4GG Cover Letter
  4. Submit signed Gold Standard Terms & Conditions

  2. Provide a fully completed Project Design Document (PDD) and all relevant supporting documentation for VVB validation.
