SustainCERT was founded by the Gold Standard Foundation in 2018 as an independent organization. We are a climate impact verifier on a mission to bring credibility to climate action.  


We combine deep climate expertise with technology to bring cutting-edge and scalable verification solutions to the market. Our work is designed to increase the speed and accuracy at which climate impact from carbon market and value chain decarbonization projects can be verified. We bring assurance that the highest standards are met, and tangible progress achieved.  


Our innovative approach aligns with and has already contributed to leading international sustainability frameworks – including the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, the UN SDGs, and the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). 

 

BRINGING CREDIBILITY TO CLIMATE ACTION

To stay within 1.5 degrees of planetary warming, our carbon emissions need to reach net zero by 2050. This means a reduction of roughly 7% per year. To meet such an ambitious target, climate action needs to be scalable and trusted. To demonstrate that progress is happening on the ground, climate impact data must pass through rigorous audits and assessments performed by verifiers such as SustainCERT. Our unique combination of climate expertise and technology allows us to bring the speed, quality, and scalability needed to ensure that credible climate action becomes the new normal.
