Ayushi Gupta

Senior Certification Officer

With a true passion for climate change work, a Master’s in Environmental Management and many, many, years of experience with the Gold Standard Foundation, Ayushi is in her element when it comes to conducting technical reviews of projects.

Ensuring climate action is credible is what drives Ayushi in her role as Senior Certification Officer, and it’s also what makes her good at her job.

Ayushi is based in New Delhi, India. Together with her family, she loves to explore different historical and natural places and tastes all kinds of vegetarian dishes. And when the weather allows it, you’ll probably find Ayushi on a picnic somewhere with her family.

Here is more about Ayushi in her own words:

  • Why does bringing credibility to climate action matter to you?

I have always had an interest in sustainable development work and have dedicated my career making sure people can trust climate action. Because without it, there is simply no progress.

  • What is your favourite family tradition?

Having regular get-togethers and festival celebrations with extended family makes me happy!

  • What’s the most interesting thing you’ve ever done or seen before?

I have been a good cyclist during my college times and explored many natural places while cycling. I used to travel a lot by bicycle, especially during my master’s time at Forest Research Institute, which is located in a national park in the lap of nature. I also remember snorkelling undersea around 15 years back, watching another colourful world of nature!

  • Would you rather stay up all night watching movies or get up early for a walk in nature? Why?

I would get up early for a nature walk as I like exploring nature and breathing fresh air, the chirping of birds, the sound of river water etc. But yeah, I do like lazy mornings once in a while, so a movie might be a good idea when nature does not allow going out for a walk like rain or snow.
