Sandra Genee

Sandra is the Head of the Value Change Initiative, co-led by SustainCERT and Gold Standard.

Sandra joined the Gold Standard Foundation in 2017, where she was one of the initiators of a Program and Platform that convened corporate leaders and civil society stakeholders to pioneer solutions that help meet the ambition of the Paris Agreement and the SDGs. In 2019 she transitioned to SustainCERT, an official certification body for Gold Standard, continuing to run pre-competitive working groups focused on the accounting, recognition and implementation barriers that companies need to overcome when addressing their Scope footprints and targets, and when looking to verify, allocate and make claims about the impacts they have achieved. Bringing this work forward under a dedicated initiative launched in November 2021, she now heads up the Value Change Initiative with a vision to achieve net value chains by 2050 and a mission to drive implementation of scope 3 action at scale.

Sandra obtained an Msc in Business Administration, majoring in sustainability and stakeholder management. From there, all her professional experiences have been in the sustainability field and focused on transparency, corporate accountability, multi-stakeholder initiatives and climate change. Prior to her work at SustainCERT and Gold Standard she has worked as a researcher and consultant focused on climate related topics, as an advisor at Climate Neutral Group, as well as managing corporate relations at the Global Reporting Initiative.
